Empire

Empire is small-town Michigan at its best. Don’t miss the quirky and beloved Joe’s Friendly Tavern, perfect for a burger and a slice of local flavor. Wander Front Street for that classic up-north vibe, including Sleeping Bear Surf & Kayak.
The fabulous Empire Beach is our nearest Lake Michigan beach.
Glen Arbor

Glen Arbor is packed with northern charm. Browse the Cottage Book Shop, soak up the funky scene at Art’s Tavern (cash only!), and don’t leave without sampling something sweet (or a little wild) from the original Cherry Republic.
Leland
(Approx. 21 miles / 26 minutes Northeast)
Step into history at Leland’s legendary Fishtown, where weathered shanties line the docks and The Village Cheese Shanty sandwiches are a must. This picturesque harbor town is a favorite for families and foodies alike.
Lake Ann

A true throwback to simpler times, Lake Ann offers an old-school ice cream cone, the lively Lake Ann Brewing Company, and cozy Red Door Coffee House. It’s the perfect stop for a sweet treat or a laid-back evening out.

World-famous for the Interlochen Center for the Arts, this tiny village also sports a mini golf course. Whether catching a concert or exploring local shops, Interlochen is a must for art lovers.
Traverse City
